I am a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. I attended their multimedia short course that was held at my school, North Carolina A&T State University. I was awarded for outstanding convergence reporting and below is the story that I did to earn my award.

NABJ Panel Discussion
The National Association of Black Journalists chapter at North Carolina A&T State University, held a panel discussion. The panel discussion was on African American's and the changing media landscape. Because journalism is changing, this effect African-American Journalism as well. The NABJ chapter brought in Professional Journalists and one student Journalist to talk about the issues, that many African-American's may face in the journalism world.
The Panel Included:
Linda Williams- a senior weekend editor for the News & Observer in Raleigh, NC. She has over 35 years of experience. She has worked for the Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, and the Oregonian.
Allen Johnson- Editorial Page editor for the Greensboro News & Record. He also worked as a sports editor. He has taught at area college's including UNC- Chapel Hill, North Carolina Central University, and North Carolina A&T State University.
Sheeka Strickland- Current FOX 8 reporter; worked at WMAZ;won an associated press award for an investigative story behind sheriff deputies that had sexual relation on the Job.
Dexter Mullins- Student journalist; Editor in cheif of the A&T Register; Intern at News & Record, Four Seasons Magazine, and interning this summer with USA Today.
Ed Gorden- Black Entertainment Television (BET) News Anchor; Interviewed Presidents and Important world figures; Worked at NBC news division; CBS news magazine 60 minutes correspondent; NPR radio
